Urgent Care vs. Emergency Care

It’s important to know when to seek urgent care versus emergency care. Our walk-in clinic provides fast and convenient treatment for non-life-threatening conditions, such as minor fractures, sprains, infections, cuts requiring stitches, and other acute medical issues that need prompt attention but don’t pose a serious health risk.
However, if you’re experiencing life-threatening symptoms such as severe chest pain, uncontrollable bleeding, or difficulty breathing, please call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room immediately. Our clinic is not equipped to handle emergencies that require hospital care.
When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead of Coastal Walk-In
At Coastal Medical Centers, we’re here for your urgent medical needs, but some situations require emergency care. If you or a loved one experience any of the following, call 911 or go to the ER immediately:
Life-threatening conditions that need immediate care
❌ Chest pain, heart attack symptoms, or difficulty breathing
❌ Severe bleeding or deep wounds
❌ Signs of a stroke (sudden confusion, weakness, or slurred speech)
❌ Head injuries with loss of consciousness
❌ Severe burns, broken bones with deformity, or major trauma
❌ Seizures or sudden loss of consciousness
❌ Severe allergic reactions (swelling, trouble breathing)
❌ Pregnancy complications with severe pain or bleeding
When to Visit Coastal Walk-In Instead:
✔️ Minor illnesses & injuries (cold, flu, infections, minor cuts)
✔️ Sprains & minor fractures
✔️ Mild allergic reactions
✔️ Non-life-threatening pain or discomfort
✔️ Routine care & physicals
Your health and safety are our priority! If you’re unsure, always err on the side of caution and seek emergency care.
